The World began with Adam and Eve and after several millennia we are now living in the post- modern era, a vibrant and dynamic age with constantly changing mindsets and ideologies. There are certain things which were previously not accepted by the society but now they are. And if you don’t comply with all those things you are labeled as “backward” and “conservative”

One such thing is homosexuality, it has already been legalized in several places and most recently in the United States of America and has gained a massive support in the past few years, And all of this is being done in the good name of “modernism.” The world is changing at an unbelievable pace.

But what does the book though written in the ancient times but still relevant today, the Holy Bible has to say about it? In the book of Genesis we read that when God created Adam He saw that he was alone. So God decided to make for Adam a partner FIT for him. So He created a partner FIT for man, and guess what it was a woman! So God created Eve for Adam and Adam for Eve, certainly not for “Steve!” Just imagine if you see two positive sides of magnets attract what will be the first word to come into your mind? Let me guess, it would either be “strange,” “weird,” or “unnatural.” Same goes with sexual relationships, if two people of same sex attract there is something strange and unnatural in it, this is not the way God created it to be or wants it to be. This is not the way God designed us to be and hence its a huge problem that needs to be fixed. So, no Adam and Steve and no Madam and Eve.

The Holy Bible strongly condemns homosexuality, gay and lesbian marriages yes not just marriage but the relationship as a whole. Let us consider some of the Bible verses:

1. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. Leviticus 18: 22

2. If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; Their blood is upon them. Leviticus 20: 13 (I AM NOT SAYING THAT HOMOSEXUALS SHOULD BE KILLED)

3. And the man likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. Romans 1:27

4. Even the women turned away from the natural way to have sex and indulged in sex with each other. Romans 1: 26

So all these verses condemn both homosexuality in all its forms (Gay and lesbianism) and those who commit it.

Remember the Sodom and Gomorrah story? One of the major cause behind their destruction was sexual immorality which also included homosexuality. As we can clearly see in the book of Genesis chapter 19 that the men of Sodom surrounded the house of Lot when they saw the two men (angels) taking shelter in his house wanting to satisfy their lustful desires with them. So it is now evident that homosexuality is not a modern phenomenon, it existed from the very beginning and from the very beginning it has been an abomination in the sight of the Lord.

Marriage was instituted by God as the Bible describes it in the Gospel of Mark 10: 6- 9 ‘From the beginning God created them to be male and female.’ ‘Therefore man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. What therefore God has joined together let not man separate.” So God created us as male and female to be one flesh joined by Him, this is only natural and acceptable both in the eyes of man and of God. The safest thing is to be within God’s perfect will and plan being outside of which leads to the path of destruction. If God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah then, He can also destroy any other nation now for the same thing. God never changes and so, His Word and statutes remain unchangeable ever. Shalom.
